RAWALPINDI: A woman and a minor boy were gunned down while a man was injured in the Data locality of Jatli on Tuesday.

The injured, identified as Shahbaz Akmal, was shifted to Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH).

According to initial police reports, Zulqurnain, 6, was playing outside his house when he and Shumaila, 40, were shot dead. Akmal was injured in the attack.

The reports said the deceased and the injured belonged to the same family. The incident was the outcome of a brawl between two families. Police said the circumstances in which the incident happened will be known after formal complaints were received by the police.

Meanwhile, the police continued to pay tributes to its martyrs as the Potohar Division wireless control was named after Inspector Imran Abbas Shaheed. The wireless control was inaugurated by Imran Abbas Shaheed’s son Ibrahim.

Family members of the martyr inspector and police officers were present on the occasion.

City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Shehzad Nadeem Bukhari said martyrs are our pride. The sacrifices of martyrs for the department are worthy of praise. The sacrifices of our martyrs will always be remembered, he added.
