TOBA TEK SINGH: Two suspects attacked two police constables in the Sargodha Road police area of Faisalabad late on Saturday.

According to a city police spokesperson, Muhammad Fahad and Asmaar Ali of the Eagle Squad went to Mehndi Muhalla to address a report regarding aerial fire. They stopped two motorcycle riders they assumed to be gunmen, but the motorcyclists opened fire, wounding both policemen. Acting CPO Ahmad Abdullah inquired about their health after they were admitted to the Allied Hospital.

Also, on Sunday in Jhang, a robbery suspect who had been detained was hurt in a police encounter.

According to a press release from the Jhang police, three motorcycle riders tried to kidnap suspect Amer Ali from police as they were transporting him to retrieve the loot near Mauza Lak Budher.

They opened indiscriminate fire, leaving Ali injured. He was admitted to the DHQ hospital. Police said Amer was wanted by police in 12 robbery and theft cases.

PTI: PTI Secretary General Asad Umar arrived at Samundri on the third day of the PTI long march in the Faisalabad division on Sunday. Several PTI supporters drove him in a rally from College Chowk to two locations for public gatherings: Ghalla Mandi Chowk and Khatme Nabuwat Chowk.

He claimed that as a result of the “imported” government’s policies, not only had millions of employees lost their jobs as a result of industry closures, but farmers had also suffered the worst-ever financial losses. He said that despite it being mid-November, the government has yet to reveal the price at which sugarcane will be purchased by mills.

Iftikhar Rasool Ghumman, MPA Hafiz Mumtaz Ahmad Gujjar, and Dr Shahbaz Gill also spoke.

FLOUR: The Faisalabad district administration foiled on Sunday an attempt to smuggle 13 tons of flour to Afghanistan.

A team raided a goods transport stand on Jhang Road and caught the truck in which flour bags were loaded under the cartons of tomatoes. Flour bags were seized, and the truck driver and dealer were arrested.

KIDNAPPED: An 18-year-old girl was kidnapped on Sunday at Gojra by four persons.

Jameela Bibi informed the Gojra Sadar police that she was standing at the bus stop of Chak 368 JB on Jhang Road along with her daughter Aqsa Bibi when a car stopped near them and three unidentified males and a woman bundled Aqsa into their car and fled.
