KOHAT: Two persons, including an assistant sub-inspector of the counter-terrorism department, were seriously injured when armed motorcyclists attacked them while they were coming out of a mosque after morning prayers in Garhi Mawaz Khan here on Sunday.

The injured ASI Mohammad Sohail and a civilian, identified as Baz Mohammad, were taken to the KDA teaching hospital where doctors operated on them.

The counter-terrorism department registered an FIR against unknown assailants and has started investigations.

Soon after hearing about the incident, district police officer Shafiullah Gandapur reached the hospital and inquired after both the victims.

He directed the hospital staff to provide the best treatment to them.

The DPO also ordered a search operation in the area besides checking at all entry and exit points.

Talking to mediapersons, Mr Gandapur said the terrorists and miscreants could not shatter their resolve to eliminate them and the operations against them would continue as usual.
