DISHONOURING BODIES: The dumping of human bodies like trash on the rooftop of Nishtar Hospital in Multan is shameful, to say the very least. Hospitals and doctors are supposed to save lives, not to throw their bodies so callously. Those responsible for this inhuman act and negligence should be punished so that no one else may dare to commit such a heinous act ever again.

PATHETIC HOSPITAL: Despite being the largest government hospital in Karam, the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital remain function without being really functional because it continues to be without some of the most basic facilities. Due to shortage of medical staff and laboratory equipment, people have to take their patients to Peshawar in search of proper treatment. The chief minister had issued a directive regarding the upgradation of the hospital, but no progress has so far been made in this regard.

CITY OF POTHOLES: The city of lights is now a city of potholes. The roads are either in a state of utter disrepair, or they have been dug up in the name of ‘development’ work. The roads, as they stand today, are actually ruins of what used to be roads in the good old days. In Safoora area of Gulistan-i-Jauhar, a lot of roads have developed massive potholes that even the four-wheelers struggle to survive. Shahrah-i-Jehangir, which was carpeted after years, has also developed potholes and patches. One wonders if there is anyone who actually cares about such things.

TOO CLOSE TO DANGER: Choorah Bhattian, Mahmood Pur, Kot Hussain, Bhoon Fazal and Bhoon Ratta villages are situated on the bank of Chenab River in Hafizabad district. They are very close to the waters of Chenab, and as the water level rises, so does the threat of extinction among the villagers. The relevant stakeholders should build some concrete deterrence to save the lives of more than 600 families.
