SWABI: Two people were gunned down by their rivals over an old enmity while they were on their way back to home after attending a court hearing in Chota Lahor tehsil here on Tuesday, the police said.

District police officer Mohammad Shoaib Khan confirmed the incident occurred on the Yar Hussain Road.

The victims belonged to Jalsai village.

Jahanzeb, a brother of one of the deceased, got registered an FIR with the Chota Lahor city police station, stating the deceased were returning home after appearing in a court in the Tehsil Judicial Complex, Chota Lahor.

The complainant said that his brother, Zamin Khan, 72, and a relative, Alam Khan, 32, along with other people were returning to their homes on motorcycles when they were attacked by their rivals with Kalashnikovs.

He nominated Mazahir Khan and Wazeemullah for the attack.

The complaint said that his brother and relative died on the spot, adding that the suspects escaped after committing the crime. The cause of the killing was an old enmity, the police said.
