KHYBER: Two security personnel were injured in an armed attack on a checkpost in Bara late on Tuesday night.

Officials said that unidentified gunmen opened fire at a building constructed near Sepra Dam in Sipah late in the night. Two of the security personnel present inside were injured in the attack, they added.

The officials said the attackers fled after an instant response by the security personnel. Nobody claimed responsibility till the filing of this report on Wednesday evening.

Meanwhile, Bara Siasi Ittehad (BSI) announced the holding of another peace march, this time in Tirah, on Friday.

The BSI leaders said in a statement that security situation in Bara and Tirah valley had not improved despite official assurances. They said they would continue to press for their demand of purging the region of all undesirable elements and ensuring safety and protection of local residents.
