ISLAMABAD: Robbers shot and injured two persons during a robbery, while cash and valuables were looted from 27 different places, police said on Friday.

In the first incident, some people shot and injured two persons during a robbery at the house of Chaudhry Akhter Khan in Sihala, the police said, adding four persons armed with weapons entered the house however, Khan’s wife, who was in the house informed her husband and left from the house through the backdoor.

Khan along with Chaudhry Zaman reached the house and found the four gunmen inside the living room, they said, adding that they opened fire while escaping and Zaman and another passerby sustained injuries. They took away with them cash Rs80,000, a 30-bore pistol and other important documents.

In another incident, four persons armed with weapons held up Syed Fazal Abbasi Rizvi and his friends at gunpoint in the I-10/4 park and snatched valuables and cash, they said, adding that a gang of robbers intercepted and held up Hanzala Abbasi at gunpoint in I-10/4 and looted valuables.

Likewise, three armed men carried out a raid at the general store of M Rafiq at Khanna East and took him to a room and tied him with a piece of rope, the police said, adding that later they took away from him cash Rs32,000 and other valuables.

Similarly, a robber intercepted and held up Noshahba Noreen at gunpoint in Blue Area and looted cash Rs15,000, a CNIC and other documents, the police said, adding that gunmen intercepted and held up Arsalan Yaqoob at gunpoint in G-10/4 and snatched away from him cash and valuables.

Besides, three armed people intercepted and held up M Zaki and his friend at gunpoint in I-10/4 and looted valuables from them. Moreover, some burglars broke into the mobile shop of M Riaz at Ghouri Town and took away with them cash Rs34,000, a laptop worth Rs45,000, mobile phones and other items worth Rs100,000, the police said, adding thieves broke into the house of Zafar Iqbal in I-8/4 and took away from the house 9 tola gold ornaments, cash Rs16,500 and other items worth Rs25,000.

Likewise, thieves stole cash Rs2 million lying in a Toyota Corolla along with a vehicle parked outside the house of Abdul Quyyum in F-7/4, the police said, adding that thieves raided a house at Nainsukh and stole valuables.

Moreover, some valuables were taken away from Col Mirza M Rizwan, Nazim Hussain, Arsalan Bashir, Saira Mumtaz and Atta-ur-Rehman.
