PESHAWAR: Independently elected village council chairmen from Bannu and Pakistan Peoples Party’s local leader Iqbal Khan and Raheem Khan of Jamaat-i-Islami from Dir on Wednesday announced to join Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf.
The two separate delegations from Bannu and Dir led by provincial minister Shah Mohammad Wazir and ex-MNA Bashir Khan, respectively, called on Chief Minister Mahmood Khan here.
On this occasion, the chief minister said that the popularity of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf had been increasing with each passing day despite conspiracies being hatched by the federal government.
According to a statement issued here, he said that the component parties of Pakistan Democratic Movement were politicising national issues for their vested interests, as even budgetary transfers of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had been stopped in an attempt to create instability and uncertainty.
He stated that the federal cabinet was not capable to run the federation and it had engaged in a fruitless exercise to marginalise Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The chief minister said that political activists from various political parties were joining them which showed that PTI had emerged as the only party which was liked by the majority because of its dynamic leadership.
The chief minister said his government had been facing financial constraints due to non-provision of funds as per the commitment by the federal government.
However, he said despite that the ongoing development projects in the province would be completed and the federal government would not be allowed to marginalise Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
