ISLAMABAD: The judicial magistrate of Shahzad Town on Monday extended physical remand of Shahnawaz Amir for another three days in the Sarah Inam murder case.

Shahzad Town police produced Amir before the senior civil judge/judicial magistrate after expiry of four days physical remand. The investigation officer sought a further three-day remand.

He said that the police have to recover the passport of the deceased. The counsel representing the family of the deceased supported the police application seeking further remand.

Subsequently, the judge allowed the application and extended the remand for three days.

Meanwhile, Additional District and Sessions Judge Sheikh Sohail extended interim bail of Sameena Shah, mother of Shahnawaz Amir till Oct 7. Advocate Rao Abdul Rahim appeared on behalf of the deceased’s father Engineer Inamur Rahim and submitted his paper of attorney.

He argued that the deceased’s father did not want to implicate anyone innocent in this case unnecessarily.

He asked the court to give ample time to the suspect to bring whatever evidence in their defence. The court then put off further hearing till Oct 7.
