LAHORE: Police on Saturday retrieved several kanal land of the irrigation department from ‘land grabbers’.

A police team under the direction of Capital City Police Officer Ghulam Mahmood Dogar conducted the operation in Chuhng area.

Police claimed that the owners of a private housing society had grabbed several kanals of the irrigation department and included it in their society.

District administration officials, Elite force, anti-riot police and irrigation department officials took part in the operation and retrieved the land.

The Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) said they would not allow any housing society to grab the state land and cases would also be registered against the owners of the housing society.
