SAHIWAL, The launch of book “Tarikh-i-Pakpatan” by Allah Bakhsh Tariq was done here at the Sahiwal Art Council on Wednesday.
Allah Bakhsh is a researcher and columnist who compiled the indigenous history of Pakpattan in the book, highlighting local religious and social movements and other incidents.
Dr Muhammad Ziaul Haq, director general of the Institute of Islamic Research, International Islamic University, and Sughra Sadaf, Pilac director, spoke. Dr Zia said we must promote tolerance, self-respect, and an interfaith approach among all religions and sects as Pakistan needs this approach. Ahmed Khawar Shahzad, director of development, thanked the audience.
Also, a painting exhibition of more than 30 works by Rubab Qadri opened at the Sahiwal Arts Council.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Basharat Shaikh, chairman of the Sahiwal Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Rubab is a political science student with a deep interest in showing women’s miseries in her art. Most of her paintings highlight injustices meted out to women in social and family fabrics.
