Karo-kari: man, woman shot dead

SUKKUR, Dec 21: A man shot dead his wife and her alleged paramour in the Ghulam Qadir Mazari village near Kashmore on Wednesday. Pathan Mazari, who suspected that his wife, Haseena, had illicit relations with Adab Hussain Mazari, first killed his wife and then went to the house of Adab Hussain and shot him dead.

Police registered a case against Pathan Mazari.

CRUSHED: A woman was killed and her daughter was injured after they were hit by a speedy wagon on the National Highway near Moro on Wednesday.

Miran, wife of Sabir Khan, 50, and her daughter, Uzma, 2, were disembarking from a wagon when another wagon hit them.

The injured was taken to a Moro hospital.

Police impounded the vehicle but the driver escaped.

BOYCOTT: Lawyers of Ghotki boycotted court proceedings on Wednesday and held a protest demonstration in front of the bar council building against the Kalabagh dam.

They were led by Ali Raza Kalwar and Abdul Fatah Samejo.

They demanded that the controversial project should be shelved.

DCO INJURED: DCO Shafiq Khoso, Regional Transport Authority Secretary Mohammad Ibrahim Mahesar and three others were injured in a road accident at the Sukkur bypass on Wednesday.

According to reports, the DCO along with the RTA secretary was going to the Sukkur airport in an official vehicle when their car collided with a passenger wagon.

As a result of the accident, bodyguard of the DCO ASI Imdad Ali Memon, wagon driver Ishtiaq Bhatti and a passenger, Ameeruddin Lashari, were injured along with the DCO and RTA secretary. The injured were shifted to the civil hospital in Sukkur. DCO’s vehicle damaged partially in the accident.

Later, Mr Khoso was released from the hospital while the other injured persons were under still treatment. Police has impounded the wagon.
