RAWALPINDI: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Rawalpindi has decided to give four chances to candidates who scored less than 50 percent so they can improve their marks at the matriculation and intermediate level.

According to BISE Rawalpindi spokesman Arsalan Cheema, candidates will be given four chances to improve their marks and they will be able to avail this opportunity in three years.

“BISE Rawalpindi has also amended the examination system. According to the new policy, matriculation and intermediate examinations will be held twice a year. Instead of annual examination and supplementary examination, two annual examination systems will be held from next year,” he said.

The old system has been replaced with one that comprises the first annual examination and the second annual examination. Supplementary exams will not be held this year after the adoption of this system, he added.

As far as the first annual examination is concerned, it will be held every year, while the second annual examination (previously called the ‘supplementary examination’) will be taken after six months.
