KARACHI: 1,556 teachers get promotions

KARACHI, Dec 20: The office of the EDO (education) of the city government on Tuesday announced the promotion of 1,556 teachers. A press note issued in this regard said that as many as 234 primary school teachers from the girls schools and 285 from boys schools, 467 junior school teachers from girls schools and 570 from boys schools had been promoted to the posts of high school teacher (HST) with the approval of the competent authority on the basis of seniority/ fitness in accordance with the existing promotion rules.

34 cases of boys’ primary teachers and 51 cases of boys’ secondary teachers are withheld for want of papers, which will be cleared after receiving of the files, the press note added.

It said that the copies of the promotion orders shall also be available at the website www.karachicity.gov.pk of the city government and could also be obtained form the DO (education) concerned by the head teachers and teachers concerned.

The complaints regarding any underhand dealing, if any, regarding the distribution and securing copies thereof shall be dealt with seriously, warned the press note.—PPI
