HARIPUR: A man killed his sister in Marchabad village of Khanpur tehsil here on Friday.

The Khanpur police said Ubaid Ali fired gunshots at Kashmala Bibi, 17, following heated exchanges over the use of mobile phone by her.

They said the girl with critical injuries was shifted to the Khanpur tehsil headquarters hospital but the doctors declared her dead.

The police said as the gunman had fled the village, they were searching for him.

TEACHERS BODY: The Subject Specialists Teachers Association, Haripur, on Friday elected its new office-bearers for the next two years unopposed.

They included chairman Hafiz Sarfraz Tareen, chief patron Qari Mohammad Iqbal, vice-chairman Rafiq Tanoli, president Mumtaz Khan, general secretary Khurshid Anwar and senior vice-president Waheed Jadoon.
