KARACHI, Dec 13: The Chief Controller of Buildings, Rauf Akhtar Farooqi, has issued directives for cancellation of licences of Shalimar Builders and its associate companies besides annulment of NOCs for advertisement and sale of all projects for violating building laws.

The NOC for advertisement and sale of Akbar Paradise project in Gulshan-i-Iqbal was also revoked. Meanwhile, the KBCA demolition squad razed and sealed various illegal structures.

According to the KBCA, builders’ licences for all companies associated with Shalimar Builders had also been cancelled.

The builders licence of Shalimar Builders and NOC for one of its project namely Gulshan-i-Amin Plaza in Block-21, Federal B Area had already been cancelled.

The chief controller also issued directives for initiating legal action against violations by builders.

The NOC for Akbar Paradise Project on Plot No A-3, Block-A, was cancelled for committing violation of building regulations.

In other actions, the KBCA’s demolition squad pulled down illegal constructions on compulsory open space on Plot No 36, Block 7-8, CP Berar Society and removed shutters put up for further construction.

In Gulshan-i-Iqbal, illegal constructions were razed on Plot No ZC 21/7, SB C-1, Block-7 while shops and courtyard on Plot No B-19, Block-16, Plot No SB-37, Block-13/C, Plot No ZC-8, Block-7 and Plot No B-42, Block 13/A were sealed.—APP
