KARACHI, Dec 13: Sindh Employees Social Security Institution Commissioner, Rasool Bukhsh Phulpoto, on Tuesday asked medical officers to create a congenial atmosphere in SESSI dispensaries to provide proper healthcare services to secured persons.

He was addressing the members of examining committee constituted on the advice of Sindh Labour Minister Adil Siddiqui to look into the quality of services being provided to registered workers and their families.

Mr Phulpoto said that affairs of SESSI outlets functioning under Landhi, Korangi and city circular sections need better cleanliness. He observed that there was no proper maintenance of record, patients’ profiles were missing and the kind of treatment being provided was not up to the mark. The record should show at a glance the entire working of a centre, he said.

SESSI commissioner pointed out that number of SESSI medical outlets, whether big hospitals or dispensaries, had increased from 36 to 39 while Rs600.4 million would be spent on healthcare and Rs93 million on the purchase of medicines during the current fiscal year. —APP
