ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) administration on Saturday sought an explanation from an assistant registrar and four drivers for rash driving.The deputy registrar (administration) of the IHC sought explanation from Assistant Registrar Shahid Nadeem, drivers Qamar Zaman, Mohammad Iqbal, Zahoor Khan and Mobin Ahmed for their rash driving while going to Haripur to offer funeral prayers of the mother-in-law of IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah on June 28.

“When on the way, some escort vehicles, vehicles of the Hon’ble Judges and the Assistant Registrar (Protocol) reportedly driven by the above named drivers roughly crossed/overtook the vehicle of the Hon’ble Administration Judge using horn loudly,” the explanation letter said.

It said the above act was against the decorum and protocol and also caused inconvenience to the judge.

The administration directed the officials to explain as to why disciplinary proceedings may not be initiated against them under the Efficiency and Discipline Rules.
