STRANGE STANCE: The current opposition seems to have crossed many a limit in terms of acceptable behaviour, talking about dangers to the integrity of the country. This dangerous game is making people digest the fact that it does not care about anything or any institution. Many in the land saying anything remotely close to what the opposition is constantly saying would have been treated in a much harsher manner. Why this exception?

KARACHI POLITICS: The opposition continues to demand early elections, and there is a split in popular opinion on the matter, but my question to the political parties is simple. Where do they vanish once the elections are over? The people of Karachi have the right to ask the political parties what they have for them and what strategy they have to solve the problems of the metropolis. When will the people of Karachi see their issues resolved and stop being befooled?

PASSENGERS’ PLIGHT: The already pathetic bus service from Turbat is getting worse in every possible way. The transporters have doubled the fare from Rs1,000 to Rs2,000 in the wake of recent fuel price hikes even though they use the smuggled Iranian petrol. The condition of the busses is nothing to write home about, and the drivers seem careless. The authorities concerned should do something about it.

The sector must continue exploring IT-based advances to make its operations more efficient and customer-friendly.
