QUETTA: National Party president Dr Abdul Malik Baloch on Thursday expressed concern over what he calls deteriorating law and order situation in Balochistan, violation of human rights and forcible disappearance of the youth and political activists of Balochistan in other provinces.

Speaking at the NP’s Central Committee meeting, Dr Baloch said that the Balochistan students were not safe even in educational institutions of other provinces and the federal government had not changed its “negative attitude” towards Balochistan.

He said that members of security forces were depriving the people living in border areas of Makran and other areas of their right of earning bread and butter.

He said that wrong policies of the PTI government had triggered unprecedented price hike and pushed the country towards economic disaster.

The NP president said that results of the first phase of local government elections in Balochistan were encouraging as the people of the province had given mandate to the National Party in various districts.

Dr Malik Baloch also deplored restrictions on students’ politics in educational institutions of the country and said this ban had blocked the way for the youth to fight for their rights in educational institutions.

He demanded immediate lifting of the ban on student unions in educational institutions.
