QUETTA: Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove has said that making Balochistan a peaceful province is the top priority of the coalition government. He said a peaceful environment is necessary for completing the ongoing development projects in the province.

Speaking to people and representatives of his constituency during his visit to Kalat and Khaliqabad areas on Sunday, he said the coalition government was working for development of these areas and solution of problems being faced by people of these areas.

He said the government was paying special attention for completion of development projects launched in Kalat and other areas.

He said that in the upcoming budget many new development schemes would be included in the PSDP to restore complete peace and order in the area.

He said the development schemes included health, education, provision of drinking water, communications, industry, agriculture and other important sectors. “Making the province peaceful is our priority and all steps are being taken to maintain law and order, which is important for the development of Balochistan,” Mr Langove said.

The home minister said that the government was making efforts to complete ongoing development projects across the province as soon as possible so that the people of the province could benefit from them.

He said consultations were held regarding development plans of the integrated districts for inclusion in the development programme for the next financial year.

Participants of the gathering in Kalat and Khaliqabad were informed that the completion of projects would be a priority in the next annual development programme with special focus on effective delivery of services in all basic sectors.

“Under the provincial and federal PSDP, all priority projects will be completed by 2023. The development plan is also part of the proposed development programme to address basic problems and needs of the people,” he added.

The home minister said that new development projects would be initiated in consultation with the elected public representatives. The public representatives should identify needs of their constituencies in time to identify past plans so that the development plan of the districts can be finalised without delay, he added.

He said special attention would be given to remove the staff shortage in the medical centers of the districts. The government would provide quality medical facilities and improve educational institutions. Besides, projects for promotion of tourism in Kalat district would be included in the development programme, he added.

He said a series of review meetings would be held to ensure implementation of development projects in the districts. The objective is the development of the districts and for this purpose all possible steps will be taken to ensure timely and quality completion of development projects.
