MARDAN: Three people were killed and five others injured when a passenger coach and Qingqi rickshaw collided on Katlang road near Qaziabad area here on Thursday.

Rescue 1122 officials and locals said that a speeding coach collided head on with the rickshaw in the early hours of Thursday.

The rescue officials said they rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies and injured to Mardan Medical Complex (MMC) hospital.

Mohibullah, 42, of Swat, and Saleem, 50, of Katlang in Mardan died on the spot, while Abid, 40, of Katlang succumbed to his injuries in the MMC hospital.

The injured included Zarin,30, Bashir,60, and three women aged between 18 and 25. All the injured belonged to Mardan district.

Katlang police registered the case and have started investigations.
