LAHORE: In yet another change, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Saturday decided to start the Senior Inter-city Cricket Tournament in phases in all the six Provincial Cricket Associations (PCAs), with the first leg starting in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday.

The matches in Balochistan will start on Monday while the games in Sindh will begin on Tuesday.

While the matches in three remaining PCAs -- Central, Southern and Northern -- were postponed for seven days due to pre-monsoon season.

First, the PCB had a plan to start the matches simultaneously from June 19 in all the six associations. But on Friday, the Board in a brief press release announced that the tournament had been deferred for seven days due to pre-monsoon season.

However on Saturday, the PCB came out with yet another plan, to start the matches in phases.

Overall, ninety-three teams will be seen in action across the country in this event, which will continue till July 21. The first innings of each team will be limited to 75-overs-a-side in the matches, which will be held over two days.

The PCB, for the Senior Inter-City Cricket Tournament, has announced the squads of 13 teams from Balochistan and 19 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa while the squads of the remaining PCAs will be unveiled early next week.
