KARACHI, Dec 10: Arrangements for 28th Asia Pacific Dental Congress were reviewed at a meeting chaired by Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad on Saturday.

Chairman of the congress, Dr Arif Alvi, briefed the meeting.

Ibad exhorted the dental experts that besides scientific and technical matters, arrangements should also be there for liaison with people and for creating awareness among them.

He described Karachi’s selection as a venue for the international moot a welcome gesture and said that a positive image of Karachi had emerged the world over during the last few years due to sustained efforts.

He said holding of international events in various fields in a series was a testimony to the fact.

The governor called for paying full attention to dental care in the country and said preventive measures should be adopted against various dental diseases.

Appreciating the efforts of the Pakistan Dental Association, he assured of the government’s cooperation for the moot.

He issued necessary instructions to Health, Home and other provincial departments and city government authorities in this regard.

The meeting was informed that the 28th Asia Pacific Congress would be held from Feb 23 to 27 and besides various scientific sessions, the programme highlights would include awareness generation, dental melas and other events involving public participation, while TV and Radio will also hold talk shows.
