HYDERABAD: The Sindh additional advocate general (AAG) has advised the provincial chief secretary and forest secretary to fill the post of chief conservator forests (riverine and inland) to comply with the relevant Supreme Court order.
The apex court had on June 1 taken up a petition (52/2018) pertaining to forest land retrieval filed by Advocate Qazi Ali Athar. During the hearing, the court asked the AAG as to why the post was not being filled since Sept 2021.
The AAG submitted that its additional charge was given to chief conservator (mangroves and rangelands). He had sought time to seek instructions from Sindh government about filling the post.
The AAG has to submit his reply after summer vacation.
