RAWALPINDI: Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Rawalpindi Chairman and Divisional Commissioner Noorul Amin Mengal on Monday rejected the appeal of four senior teachers against the sentence of the disciplinary committee in the papers leak scam.

He took up the cases of the four senior teachers who had performed duties of superintendents at the examination centres from where the papers leak and other issues were reported.

Tahir Mehmood from Jhelum, Rasheeda Fatima from Kahuta, Raja Mohammad Ishtiaq from Morgah and Kausar Parveen from Chakwal had appealed to the BISE chairman that the disciplinary committee had disqualified them for life on the allegations of the papers leak.

However, Mr Mengal rejected their plea and sent the case of Tahir Mehmood from Jhelum to the Anti-Corruption Establishment for further investigations.

He said there was zero tolerance for those who played with the future of students. He said these teachers would not be allowed to supervise any examination in the future.

He said the sentence was given after completing all the due process of law and rules. The teachers had been given time to explain their position.

When contacted, BISE spokesman Arslan Cheema confirmed that the board chairman had rejected the appeal of the four teachers.

Prof Nasir Mahmood Awan, controller examinations, said the cancelled and postponed papers of SSC Part-I and II would be held from June 11 to June 16. He said officials will collect the papers from banks and would not open them before 8:30am for the morning session and 1:30pm for the evening session.
