HYDERABAD: Rich tribute was paid to the great hari leader of his era, Comrade Hyder Bux Jatoi, at a programme held here on Saturday to mark his 52nd death anniversary.
Comrade Jatoi was called ‘Baba-i-Sindh’ and ‘Mao of Sindh’ for his lifelong struggle for peasants’ rights.
Speakers at the event, including Sindh Hari Committee leader Samar Jatoi, general secretary Ahmed Nawaz Inqilabi, Sindh Taraqqi-pasand Party chairman Dr Qadir Magsi, Awami Jamhori Party leader Lal Shah, lawyer Yusuf Leghari and Jeay Sindh Mahaz leader Khaliq Junejo, said that whatever rights were available to peasants, they owe it to Comrade Jatoi.
They said that Jatoi had fought for hari rights on all fronts. They said that he had challenged, waderas, sardars and others and had shaken them.
They said the comrade’s philosophy that “humanity is supreme and all ideologies are subservient to it”, would lead to prosperity of labourers and peasants.
They said that there was a time when Pakistan was under One Unit, and added that these days Pakistan was facing conditions more severe than they were in that period. They said Indus river remained under occupation of others and Sindhi people did not have right over their resources.
