LAKKI MARWAT: Bannu deputy commissioner Mohammad Zubair Niazi has asked the doctors and union council polio officers to review daily progress of teams during the anti-polio drive starting from May 23.

Speaking at a meeting on Friday, he asked the union council officers to ensure that the immunisation target was achieved.

District health officer Rehman Afridi was also in attendance.

Mr Zubair also inaugurated the anti-polio campaign by administering oral polio vaccine to children.

He distributed appreciation certificates among the officials engaged in the polio eradication initiative in Zarwam, Khandar Khankhel and Musakhel Waligai union councils.

The deputy commissioner said the surfacing of confirmed polio cases after a gap of 15 months had made Bannu division a focus of attention for the entire world.

He asked the polio teams to reach every child in their respective areas.

GAMES CONCLUDE: A two-day traditional archery tournament concluded here on Friday with a colourful prize distribution ceremony.

Provincial deputy director sports Jamshed Khan Baloch, chief provincial coach Shafqatullah Khan, district sports officer Ismail Khan Wazir, area elders and a large number of game lovers watched the final match.
