KOHAT: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf leader and district development advisory committee chairman, MPA Ziaullah Bangash has said former prime minister Imran Khan will address a public meeting to be held at the new divisional sports stadium here on May 17.

Addressing a meeting on Saturday, he claimed it would be the first-ever meeting of the former prime minister in any district of southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to a statement.

He said people from across the Kohat division and other districts would attend the public meeting.

Mr Bangash said the movement spearheaded by the former prime minister would prove as the last nail in the coffin of the “imported” government.

PROTEST: The people of Jarma held a protest demonstration at Dhodha Chowk on Saturday against excessive loadshedding.

Former district Nazim Malik Naseem Afridi and elders spoke on the occasion and asked the Peshawar Electric Supply Company high ups to immediately end outages.

They decided to bring into the notice of Pesco local chief and the administration officials people’s misery caused by excessive loadshedding.

They warned that if the officials did not take notice they would come onto the roads.

BODY FOUND: Mutilated body of a man was found near the Tanda Lake on Saturday.

SHO Saddar police station Jamshed Khan told Dawn that Rescue 1122 retrieved the body identified as that of Hayat Faqeer, a resident of Barh village.

He said samples of the body had been sent to the Khyber Medical University, Peshawar, for autopsy to ascertain the cause of his death.

Meanwhile, a boy, 19, was stabbed to death by his friends after an altercation over some issue in Sorgul area on Saturday.
