ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided that after May 16 all files related to allotment of plots will be transferred and uploaded on the National Radio and Telecommunication Corporation (NRTC) system.

The CDA’s wing which deals with cases of those whose land had been acquired by the authority and they are entitled to receive alternate plots, faced many inquiries for bogus allotment cases a few years ago. Currently, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) is also probing these cases.

An official of the information technology wing of CDA told Dawn that it has been decided that all cases of the said wing and estate management wing will be entertained through the NRTC system.

He said that through this, all files will be traceable and will be in the reach of all officers of CDA. They will be able to see movement and authenticity of the files anytime. The officer said that the applicant through a tracking number could also get status of their files checked.

“If this system is properly handled, the chances of fake and bogus allotment will be reduced drastically,” the official said, adding a couple of years ago, CDA faced a mega scam of bogus and backdated allotment cases, which is still being probed by FIA.

Meanwhile, a notification issued by CDA (dated May 6) stated that all cases involving people whose land had been acquired by CDA will be transferred to the NRTC and progress of each case will be regularly uploaded.

It added that no file should move without entry into the NRTC system. All fresh and existing cases forwarded to the accounts office should also be made through the NRTC system.
