TAXILA: Three people were killed in a road accident while bodies of two boys were found on Monday.

According to police sources, a family was going to Bhakkar from Islamabad and were travelling on Hakla-D.I. Khan motorway. When their car reached near Kharappa Interchnage in the limits of Pindigheb police station, the vehicle’s tyre burst and it fell into a roadside ditch.

As a result, Zaffar Aslam, his brother Sajjad and Zaffar’s daughter Inshal died on the spot while Hassan Sajjad, 5, his mother Sobia and Zaffar’s wife Saira Jabeen were injured. The injured were shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Pindigheb, but later taken to a hospital in Rawalpindi due to their critical condition.

In another incident, bullet-riddled bodies of two boys aged between 10 and 12 years were found along Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway (M-1) near Paswal Interchange in the limits of Taxila police station on Monday.

After getting information, City Police officer Rawalpindi Rawalpindi Omer Saeed Malik, SSP Operation Waseem Riaz, SP Potohar Division Rana Abdul Wahab and other senior officers reached the scene and supervised the investigation.

“One of the boys was about 12 years of age while the other was around 10 years old. Both were shot in their forehead with a firearm,” Sub-Divisional Police officer ASP Waqas Khan told mediapersons.

He said the victims looked like siblings as their features appeared similar but they were yet to be identified.

The bodies were spotted by some passerby on service road along the motorway who then informed the police, ASP Khan said, adding that the bodies were sent to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Taxila for autopsy and a double murder case was registered against the unknown assailants.
