ISLAMABAD: Robbers and thieves looted cash and valuables from 31 places of the capital, police said on Sunday.

Two robbers looted suits from a tailor’s shop in Marwa Town, Koral, police said, adding that three people raided Zaigham Ali’s shop and snatched Rs105,000, three mobile phones and ATM cards at gunpoint.

Naeem Khan was held up at gunpoint in Tarnol and Rs834,000 and his mobile phone were snatched from him.

Sajid Ali was intercepted by three people at Kartarian Bridge and robbed of Rs50,000 cash and a mobile phone, police said, adding that Rs10,500 besides other valuables were snatched from Anis Naseer and his cousin Amar Munir.

Cash amounting to Rs17,000 and mobile phones were taken from Danial Shahzad and his cousin Sahmin Shahab at gunpoint. Osama and his wife were also held hostage and Rs10,000, gold ornaments besides other valuables were snatched from them.

Three armed men held up Haider Ali at gunpoint and snatched his mobile phone, police said, adding Rafat Mehmood’s mobile phone was snatched at Islamabad House.

Moreover, burglars broke into the house of Mohammad Murtaza Malik in Chattha Bakhtawar and escaped with Rs200,000 and gold ornaments including a ring and a necklace, they said, adding burglars broke into the house of Barrister Yousaf Mehmmod Qureshi in F-11/4 and escaped with Rs200,000.

Likewise, a police official was deprived of cash Rs34,000 and ATM cards, the police said, adding two riders of a car offered a lift to Latif Khan, stationed at the Security Division and during the ride, they were able to steal the amount from his pocket.

Similarly, thieves stole cash Rs125,000 from Abdul Rehman’s shop in G-9/2, they said, adding some burglars broke into the house of Idrees Ahmed Khan in Bahria Town and escaped with Rs3,000.

Meanwhile, two cars including a Mehran were stolen from G-9/2 and I-8/2, the police said, adding 11 motorcycles including Suzuki 150, Honda CD70, Hero, United, Super Star and Union Star were stolen from Sihala, Ahmed Town, G-9 Markaz, I-11/1, I-11/4, Ghouri Town and Lethrar Road.

Besides, mobile phones were snatched from Tanveer Khan at Dhoke Kala Khan, Hamza Ali at Tarnol and Ghulam Hussain at Golra Mor.
