SUKKUR: A dust storm followed by strong winds swept through several districts of upper Sindh on Thursday night blowing away roofs and pulling down walls of many houses, shops and other structures. A number of hoardings, signboards and solar panels were also brought down. She was retrieved and taken to a hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead on arrival.

An eight-year-old girl died in one such incident. Identified as Safeela Golo, the girl was buried under the debris of the collapsed roof of a house in the Raham Ali Shah locality of Kandhkot.

Sukkur had received moderate rains coupled with strong winds while several other districts of upper Sindh experienced unexpected rain, thunderstorm and North-Westerly winds on Thursday evening.

A day earlier, heavy rain and hailstones pounded Larkana and Qambar-Shahdadkot districts and their adjoining areas badl fecting power supply network across a vast region.
