SAHIWAL: The District Development Committee (DDC) has approved 58 schemes worth Rs189.9 million for Sahiwal in the current financial year.

Most development projects have been approved for Chichawatni tehsil.

Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Awais said the projects include provision of missing facilities at village schools, provision of electricity to 42 villages and construction of four new roads connecting villages with the grain market.

Five new class rooms would be constructed at Govt Girls High School, 14/9-L and Govt Primary MC School, six schools’ boundary walls would be constructed and renovation of class rooms of

four schools would be undertaken. Similarly, Rs32.3 million would be spent on upgradation of four boys’ and girls’ schools besides construction of science labs.

Electrification of 42 villages of Chichawatni and construction of new roads connecting five villages are among other projects.
