LAHORE: Robbers looted cash and valuables from houses and shops and took away 80 motorbikes in the provincial capital during the last 48 hours.

The prime target of the criminals were the citizens doing grocery for Ramzan.

Reports said armed men entered Abdul Waheed’s house at Kot Lakhpat and took away cash, gold ornaments and other valuables worth over Rs1 million.

Thieves took away cash, jewellery and other valuables worth over Rs300,000 from the house of Zahid Ali at Manga Mandi.

In the Model Town police area, armed men stormed Ahsan Ali’s house and took away valuables worth over Rs600,000.

Armed men held up citizen Usman in Shadman area and deprived him of cash and other valuables worth over Rs500,000.

Three armed men forcibly entered Zubair Ahmad’s house at Manawan, held up family at gunpoint and made off with cash and gold ornaments worth over Rs1.1 million. Two armed men entered Waqas’ shop at Liaquatabad, held up the employees and deprived them of Rs200,000.

In another incident, robbers held up shopkeeper Tayyab in Hadyara area and fled with Rs78,000. In Ravi Road, two armed men held up Javed in a street crime and deprived him of Rs65,000.

Robbers held up Saleem in Sundar area when he was going to a market and escaped after looting from him Rs107,000.

Ijaz was robbed of Rs28,000 in a deserted street at gunpoint and Armaghan Ahmad of Rs35,000 in Defence C area. A gang of robbers held up Jehangir at Johar Town and deprived him of Rs40,000 and his cell phone.

At Mustafaabad, two armed men held up a woman and her daughter at their doorstep and fled away with their cash, jewellery and other valuables worth Rs82,500.

Criminals drove away with motorbikes of the citizens from South Cantt, Misri Shah, Gulshan-i-Ravi, Iqbal Town, Sanda, Shahdara, Nolakha, Faisal Town, Nishtar Colony, Factory Area, Kot Lakhpat and Kahna.
