The Zeenat Haroon Rashid Writing Prize for Women is now open for submissions in the nonfiction category.

The competition is open to all Pakistani and Pakistani-origin women aged 18 and above, on any theme that uses Pakistan as its canvas or location. The winner will receive a cash prize of Rs 100,000.

Submissions can be in the genres of memoir, biography, narrative or polemical essay and travel writing. This year’s panel of judges includes journalist, novelist and chief theatre critic for The Guardian Arifa Akbar; journalist and nonfiction author Carla Power; literary editor for The News on Sunday and short story writer Wajiha Hyder; book editor Shan Vahidy and Islamabad-based correspondent for The Wall Street Journal Saeed Shah.
