PESHAWAR: Qaumi Watan Party has asked Prime Minister Imran Khan to admit his failure and step down without wastage of time in order to avoid further legal complications.

Addressing a press conference at his party’s secretariat here on Thursday, QWP provincial chairman Sikandar Hayat Sherpao said that the prime minister had lost majority in the National Assembly and the best option for him would be to vacate the premier’s office before the vote of no-confidence.

On this occasion, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf UAE Tiger Force vice-chairman Rabiullah Khan joined QWP along with his supporters.

“The prime minister should resign to end the political crisis. The allies and PTI members have started parting ways with the government. Imran Khan should see the writing on the wall,” said Sikandar Sherpao.

Sikandar Sherpao asks NA speaker to play his constitutional role

He said the country could face anarchy if Imran Khan did not step down or face the proceedings of the no-confidence motion in a democratic manner. He asked the National Assembly speaker to play his constitutional role instead of acting as a PTI activist.

He said that after removal of the prime minister through the no-confidence motion the opposition parties should introduce election reforms to pave the way for holding free and fair elections in the country.

“Imran Khan used to say he would prefer to commit suicide instead of seeking loans from IMF. Where are the 10 million jobs and five million houses?” he asked.

The QWP leader said the PTI had added to the woes of the people in its three and a half years rule. He said the prices of the daily use commodities, including ghee, cooking oil, sugar and wheat flour, had registered a sharp increase.

Expressing his anguish over the rising inflation, he said the prices of medicines had been increased by 500 per cent. He said the PTI government had failed on all fronts and it reneged on all pledges.

The province government, he added, could not secure the rights of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said the province should have been given its due rights under the National Finance Commission award.
