Power shows

Published March 20, 2022

MOST unfortunately, and quite regrettably, all political parties on both sides of the divide are involved in allegations and counter-allegations, putting the national interest on the backburner. All sensible Pakistanis would certainly and surely endorse the timely statement recently by veteran politician and PML-Q president wherein he has asked all political parties to stop their hostile activities, and cancel all ‘power shows’ and rallies in the larger national interest.

It is all the more unfortunate that the blame game is in full flow just when the country is preparing to celebrate the Pakistan Day on March 23 in a befitting manner, and to play host to the meeting of foreign ministers of the member states of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

The political parties should forthwith cancel all their power shows and rallies anywhere in the country to avert any imminent threat to national security by our ever-hostile enemies and terrorist groups.
