MARDAN: A man with the help of his brother-in-laws gunned down his father and critically injured his mother, a sister and a sister-in-law over a dispute on partition of a house in Sikandari Koroona area here on Saturday, police and Rescue 1122 officials said.

Par Hoti police station officials said the suspect, Akbar Shah accompanied by his brother-in-laws, namely Saifullah and Zulfiqar, opened indiscriminate fire on his father, identified as Nadar Shah, mother Hajira Begum, sister Haseena and sister-in-law, Sameena.

The police said Nadar Shah succumbed to injuries while being taken to hospital, while the other injured women were shifted in precarious condition to the Mardan Medical Complex Hospital. The suspected killers fled the spot.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a dispute over partition of a house led to the murder.

The police registered FIR against the three suspects on the complaint of Muzamil Shah, a son of the deceased, and began further investigations.
