PESHAWAR: Four militants were killed and weapons and ammunition were recovered in two intelligence-based operations in North Waziristan tribal district on Thursday, the Inter-Services Public Relations said in a statement.

It said that security forces conducted the intelligence-based operations on the reported presence of terrorists in a general area of Maddi Khel and Bobar Gap in North Waziristan district.

“During intense exchange of fire, four terrorists were killed. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed terrorists,” the statement added. It said that the militants were involved in terrorist activities against security forces.

“Locals of the area appreciated the operation and expressed their full support to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the area.”

The identity of the killed militants and the group they were associated with was not revealed.
