OKARA: Lahore High Court Justice Shahid Kareem has suspended the auction schedule of 484 shops of the municipal corporation by the deputy commissioner published in an Urdu daily on March 3.

On a plea by Muhammad Faisal, the court after the preliminary hearing issued notices to respondents and adjourned it till May 12 with a direction that proceedings would remain suspended.

CASE: The Basirpur police seized 5.32-kilo heroin from four drug pushers late on Wednesday.

The police, on a tip-off, rushed to Wanawali Pul where four people on two motorcycles were on the way to Basirpur. They also opened fire at the police and damaged the police van.

The police, however, caught two of them, while others fled.

The police found heroin, an unregistered motorcycle, a CNIC and Rs700 on them.

On the report of ASI Daniyal Liaqat, a case was registered against Muhammad Khan and three unidentified people.
