PESHAWAR: Milli Yakjehti Council Pakistan has urged the federal government to implement the National Action Plan to avoid recurrence of the attacks like the mosque bombing in Koocha Risaldar area of Peshawar.

Speaking at a press conference in Imambargah Hussainabad here on Wednesday, the council’s central general secretary Liaqat Baloch said the terrorists had nothing to do with Islam and humanity as their only purpose was to destabilise the country. Representatives of other member parties of the council were also present on the occasion.

Referring to the suicide blast in the Peshawar mosque, Mr Baloch said it was not an assault on a single mosque but was direct attack on Islam, Pakistan and the entire Muslim Ummah as it had caused serious unrest among the Muslims.

“Had the federal government implemented the NAP in real sense this ugly incident would not have happened,” he said, and claimed terrorists had strengthened their network across the country.

Mr Baloch said the fresh wave of terror attacks was a serious challenge for the security forces, and stressed the need that decisive action should be taken against the anti-state elements to ensure security to lives and properties of the innocent people.
