KASUR: At least 10 passengers suffered injuries as a bus they were riding on overturned while avoiding a pothole on Ferozepur Road near Naqeebabad in Saddar police precincts on Tuesday.

According to some passengers, the driver of the Lahore-bound bus tried to avoid a pothole near Naqeebabad and lost control over the vehicle. As a result, the bus overturned, causing injuries to 10 passengers.

The injured people identified as Zain, Arslan, Naveed, Saif, Shahid, Muhammad Ali, Aqib, Munir, Asif and Naeem were rushed to the DHQ Hospital where they were stated to be stable.

The bus driver managed his escape.

LAWYER SHOT DEAD: A lawyer was shot dead allegedly by a rival on Tuesday near Malanwala bypass on Multan road in the limits of City Pattoki police station.

A gunman, who was chasing Advocate Muhammad Iqbal on his car, intercepted him near Malanwala bypass and shot him dead.

Later, the video of the incident also went viral on social media.

Lawyers of Pattoki and Kasur bars protested over lawlessness and called for the arrest of the suspect.

Police are looking into the matter.

BODY RECOVERED: Police on Tuesday recovered the body of a missing rickshaw driver at Sarhali Kalan village in the limits of Mustafabad police station.

The hands and feet of the man were tied with ropes while there were also torture marks.

According to police, an unidentified person hired a loader rickshaw owned by Muhammad Shafique for Paki Havali locality, some 10km, from here, on Sunday.

Later, when he did not return home till night, the family reported the matter to police.

On Tuesday, Mustafabad police recovered a body from fields at Sarhali Kalan that was later identified as of Shafique.

Police have handed over the body to the family after legal formalities and are looking into the matter.
