RAWALPINDI: A man was gunned down allegedly by his friends while another was murdered and his son injured over a petty dispute in the New Town area on Friday.

Mohammad Sohail, a resident of Shakrial, complained to the Sadiqabad police that his brother Mohammad Omer alias Lahori had a monetary dispute with his friends Hamza and Ali Akbar. He said another friendgot the dispute settled at a meeting held at Omar’s house.

Mr Sohail said while they were sitting in the drawing room, he and his other brother Usman went inside their home to bring meal for the guests. In the meantime, they heard sound of gunfire from the drawing room.

He said when they hurried back to the drawing room, Omer had been shot allegedly by Hamza, Ali Akbar and Abdullah. The suspects escaped from the scene.

He said the injured was taken to Benazir Bhutto Hospital where he died.

Meanwhile, a man was stabbed to death and his son injured in a clash between two groups in the New Town police area.

Police said the clash occurred over a dispute among children during which Shaukat stabbed Ghazanfar to death and injured his son, Abdullah.

The dead and injured were shifted to hospital. Police said raids were underway to arrest the suspect.

In another incident, a man was shot and injured at a wedding party in the cantonment area.

According to a preliminary police investigation, two vehicles collided with each other which led to a brawl and firing between two groups. The injured, identified as Khalid, was shifted to hospital.
