MALAKAND: A man here shot dead four members of family, including his mother and wife, in Dargai tehsil of Malakand district on Wednesday.

Relevant officials said the suspect identified as Fateh Ali Khan opened fire on his family members inside his house in Sorna village, killing his mother, wife, a brother and a niece on the spot. He escaped to the nearby mountains after the murders.

However, the police chased the suspect to the mountains and encircled him there. He was arrested after three hours of struggle by the law-enforcers.

Sources said the suspect also opened fire on the policemen, but was overpowered. The suspect is stated to be a former government servant and was mentally upset. A case was registered against him.
