CHARSADDA/PESHAWAR: Two persons were killed when rivals groups clashed over a land dispute in Saro Kallay area of Charsadda on Wednesday.

The exchange of fire between the Murad and Khan Alam groups in Mitchni area resulted in the instant death of Mohammad Ayaz and Mahaz from both the sides.

Ibadullah, a brother of deceased Mohammad Ayaz, nominated Murad, Sattar and Rahat in the FIR, while Zad Khan, a cousin of deceased Mahaz, got registered FIR against Khan Alam.

Meanwhile, a man shot dead a lady health worker in Duadzai area of Peshawar on Wednesday for allegedly breaking her engagement with him, the police said.

A statement said complainant Hayat Khan, the father of the deceased, told the police that Saifullah opened fire on his daughter, killing her on the spot.

He told the police that his daughter was engaged to the suspect, but she had declined to marry him some two years ago.

The suspect is said to be from the Nowshera district, and the police have constituted a special team for his arrest.
