GUJAR KHAN: The president of Jhelum Press Club was injured in an attack by unknown persons on Monday.

Shahbaz Butt was going to the club when he was intercepted by two motorcyclists.

Mr Butt, who is associated with a TV channel, told Dawn that the attackers were carrying batons and took him out of his car and beat him up and escaped.

“I have received injuries to my head, arms and legs,” he said, adding that it was not a robbery attempt but a pre-planned attack. The injured was shifted to hospital.

Mr Butt said Information Minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain contacted him and assured him of strict action against the attackers.
