ISLAMABAD: Three people lost their lives to Covid-19 in Islamabad and Rawalpindi districts on Wednesday. As many as 79 new cases emerged with the positivity ratio traced at 1.2 percent and 3.1pc in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, respectively.

Officials of the capital administration said deaths of a male and female patient, from the 70-89 age bracket, were reported while the deceased from Rawalpindi was identified as Taj Bibi, 85, resident of Raheemabad.

During the last 24 hours, 4,328 tests were conducted in the capital. Out of the total, 13 cases were reported in the age group of 50-59, followed by 10 in 30-39, nine in 20-29, five in 40-49, four each in 10-196, 60-69 and 70-79, two in 0-9, and one in 80 and above, the officials said.

Likewise, 11 cases were reported from Lohi Bher, followed by five from F-6, three each from F-10, I-10 and G-13, two each from G-9 and I-9, and one each from E-11, F-11, Rawat, I-8, Tarlai, G-15, G-6, I-11, Bhara Kahu, E-10 and Sihala, they said, adding that addresses of the remaining cases are not known.

There are currently 535 active virus cases in the capital, out of which 70 are admitted at different hospitals, 63 are oxygen support and seven are on ventilators.

According to Rawalpindi health authority’s data, 860 samples were collected out of which 833 were declared negative. In Rawalpindi district, there are 360 active patients. As many as 49 are in hospitals while 311 are home isolated.

Nine patients were reported from different parts of Rawalpindi and Chaklala Cantonment, two from city areas and 11 from Potohar Town.

One patient each was reported from Taxila and Kallar Syedan respectively. One patient each arrived from Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Islamabad and Mianwali.

There are 49 patients in different hospitals of Rawalpindi city including three at Benazir Bhutto Hospital, two at Holy Family Hospital, one at District Headquarters Hospital, 12 patients at Fauji Foundation Hospital and 27patients at Rawalpindi Institute of Urology.

There are four patients on ventilators in Rawalpindi, 32 patients are on oxygen support and nine are stable.
