QUETTA: The Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) cybercrime circle arrested a man involved in child pornography on Thursday.

The officials said the agency’s Quetta cybercrime unit conducted a raid in the Satellite Town area of the provincial capital and arrested the man, identified as Syed Ahmed Jan Shah, and recovered videos and photographs of children.

“The suspect possesses large amounts of child pornography in Google Photos cloud storage,” an FIA official said.

According to the FIA spokesman, the man’s digital equipment had been confiscated and sent to a digital forensic lab for analysis.

He said the operation was carried out on the report of the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children CyberTipLine, the country’s centralised reporting system for online exploitation of children.

Further investigation into the incident was under way, the spokesman said.
