HARIPUR: Four persons, including a teenage girl, were killed in separate road accidents here on Monday, the police said.

Kotnajibullah police officials said a speeding pickup struck a motorcycle near Abdullah Pur on the GT Road, killing two persons riding the bike on the spot.

They identified the victims as Sajid Mehmood, a jeweler, and his friend Mohammad Azam, who were on way to Haripur city from Dingi area.

In another identical incident, a passenger van struck a motorcycle near the Model City, killing a teenage girl on the spot. The victim, Sumaira Bibi, 17, was travelling with her father, Murtaza, who escaped unhurt.

The third accident occurred in Badhora village, where a tractor-trolley plunged into a ravine, killing driver, namely Shamraiz, on the spot.

Meanwhile, a teenage girl committed suicide over unknown reasons in Kulali village on Monday. Police quoted family sources as saying that the girl, 18, went to her father’s livestock farm situated next to their home, and hanged herself with the ceiling fan.

The family claimed the girl ended her life as she was fed up with her protracted illness.
